Summer is here and it’s that time of the year – Smoothie Season! Who doesn’t love an ice cold, creamy smoothie on a hot summer day? Whether you are lounging by the pool or running a few errands, this smoothie is quick and simple to make.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 large banana
- 7 medium strawberries
- 1/3 cup of nonfat Greek yogurt (if you aren’t a Greek yogurt fan, try nonfat vanilla yogurt)
- 1/4 cup 2% milk (or your preference: skim, whole, soy, or almond)
- 6-7 ice cubes
Cut off the tops of the strawberries to get rid of the leaves and peel your banana. Cut the fruit in halves and add to the blender. Add the yogurt, milk and ice cubes. Blend for the first 10 seconds of so to mix the banana and strawberries and then pulse until the ice is chopped. Blend again until smooth and creamy.
This recipe make 1 serving and fits perfectly in a mason jar (16 oz). Garnish with fruit and add a straw. You are all set to enjoy a refreshing and hunger satisfying smoothie!
